Voters will not be able to tell on a ballot who the cross filed candidates are.Īll five 2023 Radnor Democratic School Board candidates did successfully file to also appear on the Republican ballot. This means that candidates for these offices that are registered with one political party can also file to be candidates on the other political party’s ballot.
Pennsylvania allows candidates for School Board and Judicial positions to cross file. Independent and third-party voters do not receive any party’s ballot in a primary and may vote only on ballot questions or in special elections, if applicable. The primary winners will become their party's nominee and advance to run against the other party’s primary winner and any third party candidates in November. This means registered Democrats will only see candidates filed as Democrats and registered Republicans will only see candidates filed as Republicans on their ballots in May.
